Jonathan LaBarre leads the Investment Banking practice at O’Keefe & Associates. In this capacity, Mr. LaBarre is responsible for the execution of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and the private placement of senior debt, subordinated debt and equity securities.
During his 10-year career, Mr. LaBarre has executed a wide variety of M&A and capital raising assignments and assisted numerous middle market companies and their stakeholders. Mr. LaBarre has experience providing strategic and valuation advisory services to companies in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia spanning a diverse set of industries including healthcare services, automotive, machining, tool & die, information technology services, transportation, business process outsourcing, plastics, financial services, railroads and industrial component manufacturers.
Some of Mr. LaBarre's notable transactions have included: the private placement of senior and subordinated notes totaling $62 million for a $150 million global manufacturer and marketer of pneumatic valves, motion control and related specialty products; the sale of a $400 million heavy construction contractor and recycled aggregates supplier in Texas; multiple buy-side advisory assignments for a $50 million Midwest-based supplier of wholesale building products; the sale of a $7 million high-end entry door manufacturer in Honduras; the sale of a $35 million manufacturer of traction control differential systems and centrifugal clutch assemblies with operations in Michigan and Ireland; the sale of a $12 million short-line railroad company operating in mid Michigan.
Prior to joining O’Keefe & Associates in 2007, Mr. LaBarre spent seven years with Woodward Capital Advisors, where he was responsible for new business development and the execution of investment banking services. While at Woodward Capital, Mr. LaBarre participated in the successful completion of corporate finance transactions for companies ranging from privately held, middle market companies to large multinational, publicly traded organizations. Mr. LaBarre’s prior professional experience includes three years with JP Morgan Chase working in the firm’s investment banking, commercial lending and financial management groups.
Mr. LaBarre graduated with honors from Michigan State University earning a B.A. in Accounting and Honors Studies and is an active member of several professional organizations including the Association for Corporate Growth – Detroit & Cleveland Chapters (member of the Programs’ Committee – Detroit Chapter), Turnaround Management Association, Risk Management Association, Society of Automotive Analysts, Risk Management Association’s Young Professionals Network Group and the New Enterprise Forum.
