Michael J. Hausman, Director, has over seventeen years of experience, including twelve years of restructuring experience. He has worked with clients ranging from $10 million to $850 million in revenues in a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, communications, manufacturing and retail. His primary areas of expertise include advising on financial and operational restructuring strategies; business plan and financial projections; cash flow management and financial restructuring and refinancing. Mr. Hausman has assisted his clients in numerous ways, ranging from financial advisor to interim management and has successfully completed engagements in out-of-court and Chapter 11 restructurings.

Mr. Hausman’s advisory engagements have included a multitude of privately-held and publicly traded companies and include serving as financial advisor to a major automotive die-casting supplier; assisting in the re-negotiation of contracts and development of a reorganization plan that led to successful emergence from bankruptcy; developing a costing model used as the basis for renegotiation and award of substantial customer price increases; and successful implementation of various profit improvement initiatives at numerous clients.

Prior to joining O’Keefe & Associates, Mr. Hausman was a Director at Alvarez & Marsal, a large international consulting firm, for two years and spent approximately ten years with Conway MacKenzie & Dunleavy where he was a Director (title changed to Managing Director). Prior to that, Mr. Hausman was an Assistant Vice President in the Asset Based Lending Group of First Chicago NBD Corporation.

Mr. Hausman earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Western Michigan University and his master’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in finance, from Michigan State University. Mr. Hausman is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and serves as President of the Detroit Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA). He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and is a member of the steering committee for the University of Detroit Mercy’s Business Turnaround Management program.
