Russell Long brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to O’Keefe & Associates. He has a proven track record of accurately assessing a company’s financial situation and implementing cost-efficient solutions. Mr. Long brings with him expertise as a financial analyst for litigation support cases, business valuations and acquisition financing packages, and is a valuable member of the team at O’Keefe & Associates.

Prior to joining O’Keefe & Associates, Mr. Long founded and served as president of Russell D. Long, CPA, P.C., a firm that specialized in small business consulting and tax planning. Utilizing his talents in assessing financial conditions of small businesses, he developed business plans for numerous start-ups and organized computer and accounting systems. He conceived and implemented exit strategies for shareholders of closely held companies to minimize estate and gift tax consequences. In addition, he successfully represented corporate and individual clients in IRS examinations.

Previously, Mr. Long was a shareholder in the Troszak CPA Group, where he provided tax-consulting services to closely held companies. As a result of his efforts, the Troszak CPA Group realized a significant number of annual savings.

Mr. Long, a licensed CPA, earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Walsh College, and has been awarded the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credentials by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association. He is also a member of the Presidents Club at Oakland University.
